When it comes to issues of the hair and scalp most people go online and order the most popular hair growth vitamins/products they can find. You incorporate the new product into your daily routine and begin to see results. But once you stop consumption, your hair and scalp return to the same condition it was in before. Ever wonder why? When you check the ingredient list of popular hair growth pills you will notice there is a list of high dosages of vitamins and minerals your hair needs to thrive. Most people who suffer with hair growth and scalp issues all have something in common. A HUGE malnutrition of the body and their overall diet. Did you know that the same nutrients and minerals your body needs to survive are the same nutrients and minerals your body needs to maintain healthy hair? Just as much as your organs need iron, so do the cells that stimulate hair growth. If we learn how to incorporate nutrient and mineral rich foods into our diet on a daily basis we can aid our bodies in creating an environment for healthy hair growth. This is also why meditations are important because your mental health is also apart of your diet. Sea Moss! Where have you been all my life?!

We've heard so many people raving about this super food, but very few understand the many benefits it has on the body. 

 Most americans have never heard of sea moss ( my friends and I were clueless growing up), but if your from the islands this term is all too familiar. It wasn't until I moved to South Florida that I was introduced to sea moss and its  health benefits. The foods we eat (even when eating clean) unfortunately does not provide us with all the minerals our bodies need to THRIVE, so when you incorporate sea moss, you're giving your body a dose of 92 minerals of the 102 minerals that the human body consists of and are REPLENISHING your cells.⁠ I personally add sea moss to my smoothies or add it into my oatmeal in the rising. Theres absolutely no taste ( when added using this method) but sooo many amazing benefits!

Sea moss is a type of algae, which has been part of the human diet for thousands of years. It grows on the Atlantic coastlines of North America, Europe, and the Caribbean Islands. In addition to being consumed historically, sea moss has been used medicinally in other cultures for decades, to treat conditions ranging from coughs and infections to low libido.

So lets cut to the chase. What does sea moss actually do?

 Help you digest your food

  - Because sea moss is a mucilaginous food, the texture is a great soothing agent for mucus membranes in the body including the respiratory and digestive system.

 Strengthen your immune system 

 - Rich in potassium iodide, sea moss is great for removing troublesome phlegm in clogged airways. Antiviral and antimicrobial agents such as amino acids, vitamin C and antioxidants are also present to help fight off or prevent infections. 

Sea moss is high in immune-boosting nutrients like iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc, which supports the immune system and help you fight off cold and flu symptoms

We all could use an immune boost with the Rona going around!

 Improve Thyroid function

- Your thyroid uses iodine to make hormones and regulate your metabolism, digestion, mood and more. Sea moss contains very high amounts of concentrated iodine. Consuming sea moss on a regular basis could also help with fertility if the issue is due to thyroid regulation. 

 Glowing skin!

- Sea moss also contains vitamins and minerals like magnesium, vitamin A, vitamin K, and omega-3 fatty acids, which help to hydrate and promote healthy skin cell function

Are there any negative effects of consuming Sea moss? 

While iodine can promote health in some people, it might pose risks for those with autoimmune thyroid conditions, like Hashimoto's—a disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks the thyroid gland—too much iodine can trigger hypothyroidism, says Foroutan. In those with Hashimoto's, too much iodine can trigger hypothyroidism, a disorder that occurs when the thyroid doesn't make enough thyroid hormones, according to the Cleveland Clinic
